You will be part of the Know Your Customer (“KYC”) & Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) Control team that is responsible for centralizing the capture and validation of the Know Your Customer and documentation for new customer on-boarding and ongoing KYC review for existing customers. The incumbent will play a critical role in the setup and recurring review of Wholesale and Commercial Banking clients and associated activities.

Job responsibilities:
  • Required to be highly conversant with current regulations and guidelines and the application thereof, by identifying and verifying the client’s identity and related parties, and performing name screening, adverse news search and AML risk assessment as appropriate
  • Constantly be on top of Bank’s AML policies and procedures; maintain awareness of industry trends, legislative changes, etc. and communicate policy/procedure changes to Business units
  • Support the team to obtain KYC documents to ensure CDD reviews for New and Existing customers are pro-actively managed, tracked and completed timely and within SLAs
  • Perform periodical evaluation of customers placed on Watch List and coordinate the collection and/or compilation of data between RMs and Compliance according to established policies and procedures
  • Reviewing a client’s account activity, statements, internet research, and client profile information, which may result in escalation of unusual activity to GC compliance and support units for exceptional handling
  • Follow-up, review, analyse and perform case-level investigations of potential suspicious activity that is sent to the AML team
  • Coordinates the collection and/or compilation of data, and prepare weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to Compliance and business management
  • Manage queries relating to KYC review and issues from business units and overseas branches/subsidiaries
  • Assist with adhoc AML/KYC related issues and departmental projects
 Job requirements:
 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant work experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a substantive compliance role such as a risk assessment, compliance analysis or research role related to Financial Crimes Compliance / AML
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC policies and KYC/US Patriot Act applicable regulatory requirements is an added advantage
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently or with a team, and to effectively share knowledge and skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to work on multiple assignments and complete them within established deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to solve problems and think analytically
