Job responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in daily system administration and data management operations, including data analysis, preparation, troubleshooting and distribution to various downstream systems
  • Improves data operations by conducting workflow analysis; recommending changes in procedures and workflows, with strong focus in quality, scalability and data governance
  • Participate in data acquisition and preparation, quality assurance, completeness, accuracy & consistency, sustainable maintenance and delivery timeliness incorporating effective data governance across the firm’s data landscape
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and system best practices and standards set forth by bank policies and requirements
  • Oversee SDM daily data operations and render operational support of data workflows in a timely manner
  • Assist users in terms of system administration tasks for Bloomberg AIMS.
  • Assist the Head of SDM in the preparation of standardization, policies, rules and internal controls of Master Data management. The candidate will contribute to the design of protocols, which will define what data type and when it is to be collected.
  • Assist in planning, monitoring progress and ensures the deliverables provided is accurate and meets expectations.
  • Evaluate business requests for new data and propose, test (UAT) & implement data solutions
  • Participate in projects & initiatives that require data from, or publish data to data repositories / systems
  • Ensuring the completeness, accuracy and consistency of the data so that it meets the standards of quality expected for reporting.
  • Provides regular trainings to users on data usage and data definition
  • To be able to work cross-functionally with various parties and across regions to ensure effective communication and implementation of data policies
  • Develops business solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas
  • Determines operational feasibility by problem definition & evaluation, requirements, solution development, and end-to-end coordination of proposed solutions with stakeholders
  • Demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code where applicable
  • Good knowledge of testing methodologies in performing various application and system testing and best practices
Job requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Science / Finance (or equivalent) with minimum 3-5 years of working experience in Financial industry
  • Clear communicator (written, verbal, interpretive) – to ensure ability to write documentation, and communication to developers and other stakeholders
  • Creative and critical-thinking in problem-solving, and appreciates details
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables
  • Sense of ownership / responsibility with assignments
  • Can-do attitude
  • Independent worker with excellent time management and strong organisational skills in a fast-paced, deadline-centric and multi-hatted environment
Good to have :-
  • Proficient in Bloomberg AIMs
  • Proficient with Excel VBA programming, MS SQL or major DBMS, MS Access, Windows batch scripting,
  • Prior experience in finance industry with exposure to the financial trade lifecycle
  • Worked with major trade order management systems, i.e. Bloomberg AIMS and data management systems, i.e. Markit EDM, Bloomberg Polarlake
  • Good understanding of financial terminology and definitions with data management and governance experience
  • Experience with version control systems, project collaboration tools and qualitative testing strategies
