As an Enterprise Architect, you will work closely with stakeholders across IT and business areas to proactively drive the definition and delivery of the enterprise architecture to support the business and IT strategies.  In Architecture we develop architecture principles and standards, target and transition architectures, roadmaps and governance processes to guide change initiatives and ensure that ‘fit for purpose’ solutions are delivered.  We achieve this through collaboration and effective partnerships with stakeholders at all levels.

  2. Demonstrate deep domain expertise to ensure you are a trusted business partner who can identify business challenges and propose appropriate sustainable solutions
  3. Have a solid understanding of the broad technology and financial industry trends and other outside factors that affect the financial industry
  4. Demonstrate a deep understanding of, and the ability to navigate through the technical and organizational complexities and tradeoffs involved in developing a future state architecture vision for the enterprise
  5. Proactively drive change and guide the organization towards the future state architecture by collaborating effectively with business and IT stakeholders at all levels
  6. Have an ability to work with complex issues on an abstract level. You keep the long-term and “big picture” perspectives in mind, and you combine that with action and the ability to 'make things happen'. Your ability to drive, facilitate and communicate are high, and you combine being service minded with being firm when necessary.
  7. Work across all architecture disciplines, drawing upon and relating different perspectives to each other as appropriate in the situation
  8. Provide thought leadership by identifying opportunities and solutions to improve the enterprise architecture incrementally in an achievable fashion

    Key Responsibilities         
     
    Key responsibilities will include: 
    • Developing architecture principles and standards
    • Developing reference architectures and design patterns
    • Analyzing stakeholder requirements, current state architecture, and gaps to create a future state architecture vision for one or more parts of the enterprise with a focus on reduced complexity, cost efficiencies, reduced risk and/or improved business capabilities 
    • Working closely with stakeholders to develop practical roadmaps to move the enterprise towards the future state vision, while taking into account business, technical and delivery constraints
    • Communicating the principles, standards, vision and roadmaps to stakeholders and proactively addressing any questions / concerns identified
    • Participate in defining and operating the architecture governance process to ensure change initiatives align to the vision and roadmaps
    • Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders in both business and IT to assist in defining and delivering high quality solutions
    • Provide thought leadership on architectural or other topics
     
     
     
     
    Must Have
     
    1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
    2. Deep experience delivering mission critical, enterprise scale IT solutions in a heterogeneous technology environment
    3. Familiarity with best practice methodologies and tools for the entire solution lifecycle from ideation to requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and operations
    4. At least 15 years’ experience in the IT industry, preferably in large, complex enterprises
    5. At least 7 years’ experience in Enterprise Architecture in a large, complex, multi-location, multi-national environment
    6. A deep understanding of all domains of Enterprise Architecture, including the business, data, application, infrastructure and security domains
    7. Familiarity with one or more formal Architecture frameworks / methodologies (TOGAF, Zachman, BIAN, etc.)
    8. Familiarity with architecture governance frameworks
    9. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to stakeholders at all levels
    10. Ability to communicate complex topics in an understandable way using a level of detail and terms appropriate to the situation
    11. Capability to think conceptually and identify patterns across seemingly unrelated situations
    12. Must be a good team player and able to drive consensus amongst stakeholders with conflicting viewpoints and objectives
    13.  
       
      Good to have
      1. Master’s degree in business or technology is an advantage
      2. Financial domain knowledge is highly desirable
      3. Formal architecture certification (TOGAF or equivalent)
      4. Familiarity with heterogeneous technology platforms such as AS400, Unix/Linux, Windows
      5. IT Strategy consulting experience will be an added advantage
