Role Responsibility:

​Fraud Management
  • Fraud control functions to ensure early detection of credit card fraud so as to minimize losses;
  • System owner for Instinct Fraud Detection System responsible for application fraud detection for unsecured as well as secured loans and Business Banking loan products;
  • Conduct investigation into all payment card frauds as well as loan application frauds
  • Liaison with law enforcement agencies in the arrest and prosecution of fraud perpetrators;
  • Analyse fraud trends and institute appropriate proactive actions to control fraud losses taking into consideration risk versus customer service;
  • Monitoring of merchant activities and take appropriate actions against collusive merchants;
  • Conduct onsite merchant education on fraud prevention and detection;
  • Liaison with Risk Management personnel of other financial institutions and various card schemes on fraud trends and related matters;
  • Review of work procedures and other security matters to prevent internal fraud and also take charge of physical security of Card Centre;
  • Evaluate risk aspects for new product launches.
  • Operating 24 by 7 authorisation centre for assistance to merchants as well as cardholders on card acceptance issues;
  • Transaction monitoring and handling of all fraud alerts generated by various fraud detection systems, including alerts on domestic and overseas ATM withdrawals;
  • Proactive outbound calls to assist cardholders with failed transactions due to various reasons.
  • Review for approval on requests for temporary credit limit increase in excess of $100K.
Internal Control & Compliance
  • AML/CFT Champion for the Division responsible for customer on-boarding CDD and on-going review of high risk customers;
  • Working with various stakeholders to ensure full compliance of all regulatory requirements, such as MAS Notices 626 and Notice 635
  • Undertake remediation exercises on legacy accounts with incomplete CDD;
  • Assist various stakeholders to escalate matters to Business Compliance, Group Compliance and Operational Risk Management for guidance.
  • Monitoring of high-risk accounts / transactions and escalation to Business Compliance & Group Compliance for STR filing where appropriate;
  • Review and testing of various business units within the Division on control and compliance functions to ensure full compliance of internal group policies as well as regulatory requirements;
  • Handle all audit observations by internal and external auditors and working with various stakeholders to ensure timely closure of all outstanding matters;
  • Divisional Data Protection Officer and handle all complaints relating to PDPA.
Regional Functions
  • Provide risk management advices to the regional card businesses;
  • On-site review of authorisation and fraud matters, identify weaknesses and control gaps, improve processes for better customer experience;
  • Harmonizing of fraud control functions of all regional card centres;
  • Liaison with law enforcement agencies in the region on investigations into card fraud and prosecution of fraud perpetrators;
  • Conduct trainings to staff on fraud control and risk management;
  • Monitoring of fraud statistics and benchmarking against industry trends.
Role Requirements:
  • At least 12 years of experience in card risk management - preferably in a managerial or leadership capacity
  • Managed large teams with ability to coach/mentor/motivate teams to achieve high performances
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
