Job Objective:
  • To plan and manage the delivery of systems solutions involving internet and mobile banking in order to support the UOB eChannels Wholesale Bank business objectives
  • To work and manage project teams comprising of technical and business application analysts, architects as well as cross IT teams (ie. Hosts and other satellite applications)   
  • To work effectively with the user community and with the respective IT teams to ensure efficiency of the systems solutions that are implemented to support the business
  • To engage effectively and regularly with senior stakeholders through project governance meeting, ensuring the support of senior management throughout the project/program
  • To deliver project(s) as defined in the project scope and within the project budget and project timeline   
  • To lead a project team and involve in all project activities including project planning, estimation, execution, implementation and closure

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Implementation
  • Responsible for the overall management of the project by fulfilling its obligations under the contract, and ensure proper coordination and correspondences with stakeholders.
  • Overall responsible for the Wholesale Bank Channels project deliverables and ensure that they are delivered in accordance with the project schedule and standards.
  • To work directly with users or Business Lead(s) / Sponsors on project concept, objective and approach
  • Manage, address and resolve project-related issues in a timely fashion, ensuring necessary escalation and communication to the management.
  • To work closely with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives, creates and maintains a project plan with resource estimation, time and budget requirements and establishing deadlines
  • To select, train, develop and manage project team members in a conducive team environment
  • To guide the project team and monitor the project on a daily basis with attention to resources, time, budget and quality
  • Manage project scope effectively with project change control process is in place
  • To monitor and track milestones of all phases of the project
  • To negotiate and manage outsourcing vendors and ensure timely delivery of their deliverables
  • To resolve conflicts amicably and create a positive working team environment
  • Ensure that the project team conducts thorough quality testing and all errors are properly logged and monitored
  • Anticipate, analyze, address and resolve any issues or risks either independently or together with the relevant stakeholders and propose alternative solutions as necessary.
 Project Communication and Reporting
  • Acts as a single point of contact for the project
  • Coordinates assignments of tasks for internal and external resources to meet project objectives
  • Facilitates and coordinates interaction between stakeholders and IT resources to meet project objectives
  • To track work progress and provide project updates through project dashboards
  • Provides feedback to Project Working Committee and Project Steering Committee on project status including milestones, risks and exceptions
  • Provides timely reporting on issues and track these issues through regular project meetings 
  • Meets with project team regularly to review project status, deliverables and deadlines  

Key Requirements:

Must have :-
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in application development and delivery, particularly in managing eCommerce, internet banking and mobile banking projects
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in team management.
  • Rich experience in Wholesale Banking domain for example Cash Mgmt, Trade Financing, Host to Host, Datamapping and Supply Chain management
  • Good understanding and experience in project management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) are necessary. 8-12 years of relevant discipline and industry experience
  • Proficient in managing project and enhancements for web based application.
  • Able to define project objectives and scope, plan project milestones, gather business requirements, prepare project approval paper, derive delivery strategy/approach, track development and testing, manage testing and defect fixing and supervise implementation
  • Able to lead a team of function leads and technical leads in delivering scope according to milestones and budgets
  • Able to communicate with Business and provide management reporting
  • Proficient in functional design for web application and experience in user interface design, functional process flow, screen navigations, transaction controls, financial and transaction reconciliations etc
  • Experience in ensuring functional design meet business requirement, complies to internal guidelines, industry guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • A strong & assertive communicator in speaking & writing
 
Good to have :-
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge in Internet Banking and Mobile Banking platform technology
  • Familiar and have delivered content management system as part of an Internet Banking roll-out
  • Knowledge or have worked on delivery project involving solution such as content management and device rendering products (ie. Interwoven, HP LiveSite, Oracle Web Center Site) would be major plus.
 
Essential Technical Skill :-
  • MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio
  • MS Project
Note:
  • Banking and financial services experience preferred.
